Book of Servitude (Uboodiyyah)
The Book of Servitude is one of Shaykhul-Islaam Ibn-Taymiyyah’s (rahimahullah) great and excellent works. A small treatise but very profound and beneficial. Shaykhul-Islaam was asked to elaborate on the following four questions:
- What is Ibadah (worship) and what are its branches?
- Is the whole of the Deen embodied within it?
- What is the reality of ‘uboodiyyah (servitude)?
- Is it the highest station in this world and in the Hereafter, or are there other stations above it?
His reply is contained within this treatise.

I just began listening 3 weeks ago to the lessons from ibn Taymiyyah’s treatise on ‘Uboodiyyah with Shaikh Fawzaan’s sharh. The lessons are fascinating, especially the topic on sincerity and riyaa. I never imagined one could have ar-riyaa’ within oneself whilst alone! That’s deep, subhaanallaah.! Excellent lessons, Allaahumma baarik and I am now listening to the past lessons. I noticed you haven’t mentioned the page number you’re translating from anymore. I hope that you could mention the page number going forward. Baarakallaahu feek.
