This lesson concluded the discussion and explanation of the following statements in at-Tahawi’s creed:
“And we do not declare anyone from the people of the Qiblah to be unbelievers because of a sin – as long as the person does not consider the sin to be lawful.
And we do not say ‘when a person has eemaan then it will not be harmed by any sin which he commits.’”
with the first statement addressing (and rebutting) the madhhab of the Khawaarij and the second statement addressing (and rebutting) the contrasting madhhab of the Murji’ah.
