Countering Extremism

Date page was first created: 22nd February 2022.

The following links/pages (under the parent menu “Countering Extremism”):

  1. Kharijite related
  2. Far-right related
  3. Hindutva related
  4. Zionist related

should give one an understanding of the mindset and beliefs of followers and sympathizers of different extremist ideologies.

Material (articles, lectures, posters, links to leaflets, booklets, PDFs, etc) will be available to equip the reader and listener to gain an understanding of the erroneous nature of these ideologies and how to counter them and the doubts put forward by their proponents. This is particularly the case for Kharijism (extremist groups in our times being ISIS, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al-Shabbab, etc) where Muslims (Salafis most prominently so) have been active in refuting and rebutting this evil ideology which has beguiled many.

Note:  there are some extremist and terrorist organisations (from past to present, and people today who still sympathize with their ideology) that aren’t/weren’t associated with or linked to Muslims, such as; Lord’s Resistence Army, IRA, ETA, Combat 18, Atomwaffen Division, Ku Klux Klan (KKK), Irgun, Haganah, Lehi (Stern Gang), Bat Ayin Underground, Jewish Defense League (JDL), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE, aka Tamil Tigers), to name some, just to address those who accuse terrorism to only be associated with Muslims, a myth and misconception which needs to be dispelled.

Tamil Tigers (who were overwhelmingly Hindus) for example were one of the pioneers of suicide bombings and had women carrying out many terrorist acts.

In terms of individuals, then there are terrorists who weren’t Muslim, but were either Atheists, Christians, Jews, Zionists, Hindus, etc, like:

  • Anders Breivik
  • Brenton Tarrant
  • Thomas Mair
  • Timothy McVeigh
  • Yigal Amir
  • Baruch Goldstein
  • Thenmozhi Rajaratnam
  • Dylann Roof
  • Alexandre Bisonette
  • David Copeland
  • Darren Osborne
  • Patrick Wood Crusius
  • John T. Earnest
  • Robert Bowers

to name some.

We condemn terrorism whoever it is committed by and the ideologies underpinning them. Terrorism has no religion.

We ask non-Muslims (who have the ability) to follow in these footsteps and denounce and rebut far-right, Hindutva or Zionist extremism and terrorism.
