“The Caliphate is for Allah (subhanahu wa ta’aala); He is the one who decrees for it to be established and this will occur when a member of the family of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wassallam) appears, and he is the Mahdi, who will prepare the way for the descension of Jesus (alaihis-salaam). Yes, this is the Caliphate that will exist.
So it will exist when Allah wills and not when we wish for it to happen. As for them saying that they are working for the establishment of the Caliphate, then this action is flawed and rejected, and it is a corrupt intention. It is impermissible for them to call to Allah based on this intention. For indeed they solely intend with this call of theirs to enter into the realm of politics and to attain leadership.”

“This principle has become virtually unknown to the majority of those who claim to possess knowledge. They are ignorant regarding the issue of hearing and obeying, and that which it carries of merit and importance. So then how much more so the general people, who are more ignorant in this issue.
To them, the brave individual is the one who enjoins the good and forbids the evil, and who, for the sake of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’aala) is not concerned about the blame of the blamers. To them, he is the one who revolts against the Muslim leader, removes himself from being obedient, and calls for rebellion against the Islamic governors, merely because a mistake occurs from them, or because of some sin which has not reached the level of disbelief.”

“Regarding the issue of wealth and poverty, people’s objectives and political approaches vary greatly according to their personal ambitions, not according to following truth and looking at the greater good of the masses. However, they missed the beneficial method in as much as that they didn’t restrict themselves to the guiding instructions of the Islamic religion. Their ideas thus varied greatly, and they acted accordingly, upon which wide spread, long lasting evil occurred. Great tribulations took place between those who claimed to be helping against poverty, in favor of the poor and the workers on one hand and those who were despicably clutching riches and wealth on the other. They spoke at great length about the matter – the entirety of which is error and misguidance. Allah guided the believers to the straight path in all of their affairs generally and guided them specifically concerning this issue.”

“Even the so-called Caliphate (or Khilafah) of the Ottomans had its fair share of secular laws. In 1858 for example, it introduced a penal code based upon an earlier French Napoleonic Code which discarded the prescribed Islamic Punishments. In 1875 the secular Istanbul Law Faculty was instituted to train judges and lawyers from non-Islamic courts of the empire. Ottoman history is littered with examples of cooperation, aid and assistance in battles from the colonial powers such as the British and the French. So is this the Caliphate that al-Muhajiroun and their neo-Kharijite allies lament over? The Caliphate that they claim was dismantled on March 3rd, 1924? It shows their lack of knowledge and inexperience even in rudiments of Islamic history. They yearn for a period in Islamic history that they themselves would have rebelled against!”

“And Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah have a consensus upon what has been mentioned previously, that iman is belief with the heart, a statement with the tongue and and an action with the limbs, and that it increases and decreases. It increases with obedience and it decreases with disobedience. And whenever the servant increases in obedience, his iman increases in completeness and strength. And whenever he falls into disobedience and shortcomings and heedlessness, his iman becomes deficient. This is the ‘adiqah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah.”

“Likewise, in order to gain understanding of the different categories of at-Tawheed, it is incumbent for a person to know that which opposes and contradicts it from polytheistic, innovative and superstitious beliefs, in order to avoid them. If this is not done, the affair will become confusing for him and he may assume that there is nothing wrong with polytheism, especially if it emerges in a particular land or among an age group where they have no knowledge of at-Tawheed and do not understand the meaning of polytheism.”

From the rights of al-Mustafaa (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) upon this Islamic Ummah is returning judgement to him in every affair that they disagree in from matters of ‘aqeedah, etiquettes, acts of worship, interactions and the rest of the affairs of life.
He (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) says,
“O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger, and those of you who are in authority. If you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.” [Sooratun-Nisaa’ 4:49]

“Therefore, we firmly believe that every group that is not founded upon the Book and Sunnah and the methodology of the pious predecessors in all of its rulings, large and small, fundamental and subsidiary, then this group is not the saved sect which traverses upon the Straight Way that the Prophet characterized in the aforementioned authentic narration.
And if we presume that there are individuals interspersed among the many Islamic lands upon this one methodology, then they are not different parties and schisms, rather they are one group, and their methodology and way is one, so their being spread out in different lands is not division in their ideology, creed and methodology, rather they are only separated by land as opposed to the sects and parties which are in the same land and every party rejoices in what is with them.”

“A person of falsehood cannot present any argument in support of his falsehood except that contained in the Qur’aan is that which will expose this baseless and false argument. Furthermore, every person of falsehood who presents an authentic evidence from the Qur’aan and the Sunnah in support of his falsehood, then this evidence is actually a proof against him as mentioned by Shaykhul-Islaam – rahimahullah – in the introduction to his book Dar’ut-Ta’aarud an-Naql wal-‘Aql, “Indeed there is no person of innovation and misguidance who presents an evidence in support of his falsehood except that this evidence actually is a proof against him and not for him.”

“Allaah’s Names are not limited to any specific number, and this is understood from the statement of the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) in the well-known narration:
“…I ask You by every Name that You have,
those You named Yourself with, those You revealed in Your Book,
those You taught one of Your created beings,
and those You kept with Yourself as knowledge of the Unseen…”
It was collected by Ahmad, Ibn Hib-baan, and al-Haakim, and it is saheeh (authentic).
It is not possible for anyone to count or have complete knowledge of the Names that Allaah, the Exalted, has kept with Himself as knowledge of the Unseen.”
Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-‘Uthaymeen (d.1421H) from the book Exemplary Principles Concerning the Beautiful Names and Attributes of Allaah, TROID Publications, Revised 2nd Edition, page 41.
“O servant of Allaah! The remembrance of Allaah, the Most Perfect and the Most High is, is made upon the tongue by glorifying His perfection (Tasbeeh) and by praising Him (Tahmeed), by mentioning His greatness (Takbeer) and by reciting the Qur’aan. And the remembrance of Allaah is made in the heart by fear, hope and reverential awe of Him and other than that from the actions of the heart such as longing for Him, dread of Him, the Most Perfect and the Most High. And remembrance of Him is made outwardly upon the limbs by performing the prayers, fasting, performing the Hajj pilgrimage and the ‘Umrah and Jihaad, and other than that from the various types of obedience. So every worship, whether statement upon the tongue or action upon the limbs or in the heart, is considered as remembrance of Allaah, the Most Perfect and Most High.”

So building upon the graves in order to glorify them is prohibited and it is from the means of Shirk, and it is from that to which the people become attached. However, the grave of the Messenger was not built upon, he (صلى الله عليه وسلم) was only buried in his house and we know the reason for that: it was to protect him. What do you think would happen if the Messenger was buried at al-Baqee’? What would occur around his grave from crowding and extremism and the actions of the ignoramuses? However, Allaah answered the supplication of his Prophet. Indeed, he said, “O Allaah, do not make my grave into an idol that is worshipped.”
So He answered his supplication and he was buried in his house as a protection. Ibnul-Qayyim (rahimahullah) recited the following verses of poetry,
“So the Lord of the worlds answered his supplication and encompassed it with three walls; up until its interior became an honour, a protection and maintains due to his supplication.”
This is the difference between the grave of the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and the other graves that have structures built upon them. So we must not confuse this with that, such that we start saying: The grave of the Messenger was built upon and has a dome atop it. So due to this, it is permissible to build over the other graves and make domes over them, as the deviants do.
