A start on the explanation of the following passage:
“We believe in the angel of death which has been entrusted with taking the souls of the aalameen. And likewise we believe in the punishment of the grave for the one who is deserving of that, and the questioning of Munkar and Nakeer in his grave about his Lord, his Deen and his Prophet, in accordance with whatever has come in the reports, from the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and likewise the Companions (may Allaah’s pleasure be upon them). So the grave is either a garden from the gardens of Paradise or it is a pit from the pits of Hellfire.”
